{"id":10,"date":"2016-02-23T08:28:33","date_gmt":"2016-02-23T08:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/?p=10"},"modified":"2016-09-13T03:46:34","modified_gmt":"2016-09-13T03:46:34","slug":"world-driver-championship-car-track-mod-take-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/?p=10","title":{"rendered":"World Driver Championship Car &#038; Track mod &#8211; Take 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yonks ago (2013 to be precise), I was working on a project which I hoped eventually would enable me to import new car and track models into the N64 game World Driver Championship, I really want to make a Speed Racer mod for the game, it&#8217;s slidy handling feels like a good fit to me.<br \/>\nI got as far as partially decoding the track and car data formats, and had a basic C# track viewer up and running (barely, my understanding of OpenGL was&#8230; tenuous). Then it fell by the wayside as projects tend to do from time to time and gathered dust&#8230;<a href=\"http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/WorldDriverChampionship.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/WorldDriverChampionship-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"WorldDriverChampionship\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/WorldDriverChampionship-300x175.jpg 300w, http:\/\/jaytheham.com\/tink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/WorldDriverChampionship.jpg 377w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>until now!<\/p>\n<p>Starting from scratch (with the help of my old notes, thank-you past me!) in D, and modern OpenGL the project lives once again.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve started from the other side this time, doing the car model viewer first. So far I have models displaying, and I think I&#8217;ve worked out the details for textures.
