Link's Awakening has two versions, the original GameBoy version, and the remastered color version. Some glitches will only work on a specific version of the game, if this is the case it should be stated on the glitch's page. If version is not mentioned on a glitch's page then the glitch should work on all available versions.

If your start screen looks like this, you have the version referred to as "B&W".
If your start screen looks like this, you have the version reffered to as "DX" (obviously this screen will be in 4 shades of grey if you are playing on an older GameBoy).
