Glitch by Area

Ohai, where can I find your project regarding glitches by areas? Nothing found yet. --VerführerSIG.JPG[Talk] [Contrib] 12:00, 28 August 2011 (CDT)

Go to Category:Places. By the way, what's your opinion on it? You came across as being slightly skeptical on the Sacred Grove talk page. Curly 16:34, 28 August 2011 (CDT)
Well, I think that this will be very much work to do. Glitches sorted by places are pretty nice but you have to consider that there are roughly esteemed 1000+ glitches, items, hearthpieces to sort. It will take us a long time to finish this project and that caused my skepticism because we have got along with two simple categories for each game so far. --VerführerSIG.JPG[Talk] [Contrib] 19:01, 28 August 2011 (CDT)
You do have a point there, but I wasn't expecting it to get finished quickly. This was the reason I asked Zafum to put it on the news page, because I wanted to get the word out early and get as many people as possible to work on it. If they all added odd bits then the project would start to acheive more support and recognition across the wiki. Have you checked out the category snd the current pages yet? Curly 05:09, 29 August 2011 (CDT)
We have a pretty small community here... And yes, I checked out your categories about Glichtes by Area - nice work so far. --VerführerSIG.JPG[Talk] [Contrib] 07:36, 29 August 2011 (CDT)
Thanks. I'm glad you challenged me about the project as I now feel I know more about it myself and if you're ever at a loose end, well keep it in mind. Curly 13:17, 29 August 2011 (CDT)

Out of curiosity; is the enemy/item listings really necessary? It just seems silly when all you are doing is listing the possible glitches in that area, and considering this is a wiki about glitches. death99 13:18, 17 March 2012 (CDT)

Yeah I guess so, I was just trying to make the pages look a bit nicer, rather than just a list of glitches. I did consider thumbnails for the glitches but thought they may be too small, any ideas? Curly 06:23, 18 March 2012 (CDT)
Oh, wait how about some sort of slideshow function at the bottom showcasing the glitches in the area? Curly 06:25, 18 March 2012 (CDT)
Unfortunately that will only work if all the glitches have an image on their page, which about 50% on this wiki do not have. death99 09:33, 18 March 2012 (CDT)
Most glitches have videos/pics though. You can just put the vid on full screen, print screen, and then create a .png/.gif out of that. Any others will just have to have pics/vids taken for them. Curly 10:04, 18 March 2012 (CDT)

How about Glitches by Difficulty?

I have an easier way to organize glitches: difficulty. This would mean no reorganizing every single page to include items and heart pieces, no one needs to know everything about every place in TLoZ series. It would only be required that the users working on this project will need to share their opinions about the difficulty. This would require probably half as much time as Glitches by Area. And think about it. Do pages really tell you exactly how difficult a glitch is exactly? Well, I'ld just like an opinion of your thoughts about this.Thezeldageek 21:31, 6 February 2012 (CST)

Hi, Thezeldageek. I suggested this a while back on the Projects page and it seems to be a common thing several users want. I'd be happy to help set something like this up. The easiest way I could think of how to do it is each user (once they've done it) comments on a subpage of the glitch of a scale between 1 and 10 inclusive and then either a system is rigged up or someone calculates the mean of votes and update the glitch page with it. See here for the forum discussion:
http://jaytheham.com/zcf/wiki-discussion/glitch-difficulty-and-danger-level-t12.html?sid=ba71cc0d4f29cf1a0868ce126ea794a0
I don't, however, think it should replace GbA by any means seeing as they are two different ways to categorise glitches and are both worthy projects. I haven't been adding anything to GbA for the moment as I have been extremely busy with other matters. Regards, Curly 01:55, 7 February 2012 (CST)
Now I feel bad for mentioning this. For some reason I couldn't find this forum. I guess it doesn't replace GbA at all. I'm not a very good programer, but someone could set up a voting system at the bottom of each page. i'm sorry I didn't see this forum before.Thezeldageek 05:19, 7 February 2012 (CST)
Wow. I was half way throgh making a voting system when I realized it was horrorible idea entirely. Your right. I think it could be put on a page made exactly like the discussion page or on the discussion page. I think if we do make a page for voting we should allow anyone to vote if they want to. I personnaly am impressed with death99's programming. I think putting difficulty in the glitch header box would be a project for him.Thezeldageek 19:41, 7 February 2012 (CST)
This would be a very good idea, but would take a huge amount of time to create and I don't know if death99 is busy at the moment. He sometimes is so it probably wouldn't get made quickly. Meanwhile though, feel free to edit pages around the wiki and if you're stuck for ideas, then you could add to GbA! Regards, Curly 01:28, 8 February 2012 (CST)
Looking around, I see that you blanked the GbA page. I had to make it again. By the way, I'm not sure how to add stuff to the side bar.Thezeldageek 16:28, 8 February 2012 (CST)
I blanked the GbA page because its name is "Legend of Zelda Glitches - Glitches by Area". There is now a new one here. To see the sidebar code, go to MediaWiki:Sidebar, however it is protected and you will have to request it from Zafum or someone. Also, I don't know how good you are with templates, but I was making a template for each of the game's areas (Template:Ocarina of Time Places etc.) but I was using modified templates from Zelda Wiki. Unfortunately, (you'll see if you view the page) the text went a bit wonky and I don't know how to fix it. Curly 12:09, 9 February 2012 (CST)
Quite a good reason. As for the template problem, I can only give you advise. I looked at the page, I think your problem is that the color of the box is blue, the same color as the text, right? Well, where I'ld start is at the Zelda Wiki's template for color. I'm not the best at templates, but I think I'll look into it.Thezeldageek 21:41, 9 February 2012 (CST)
Ta da! I just got rid of part of the border text and it worked out fine!

Perhaps, I'll help you at programming and designing, if you need any help. In my opinion, we don't need danger levels (because there is also a warning template existing - and I think that is enough) and difficulty levels (you'll have to train your glitch performing skills or you will see how difficult a glitch actually is). --VerführerSIG.JPG[Talk] [Contrib] 12:36, 9 February 2012 (CST)

Well I think GbD is a good idea because sometimes I want to do a glitch, but don't realise how hard it is until I try. It serves as a gauge of difficulty but also time especially for new glitchers. Curly 12:45, 9 February 2012 (CST)

Huge OoT Glitch! I need help!

Okay. A while ago I made the Tilted Link glitch. A fter playing around, I found this. If you dive in air(step 2 of the glitch I think) then cancel the glitch the dive meter is there still and your on land. If you go into the water with the iron boots on the camera will mess up among other things. I need help exploring this glitch.SLogan 16:01, 1 April 2012 (CDT)

I'm personally not familiar with this glitch, but it looks pretty cool so I think I'll check it out. What sort of help do you need? Videos, pictures, other people to log results somewhere? I can help with any of these if you like, but if you want the last one, we'll need somewhere to log stuff. I suggest either making a section/sub-section of user page for this and let everyone edit until it's ready to be transferred to the glitch results, or just add things straight to the glitch page. I did something similar with the Armed Link with Hammer glitch on my user page. Curly 02:29, 2 April 2012 (CDT)
Your not familiar with it because I just discovered it. I was thinking just help exploring the glitch yourself. I have found that while the glitch is activated, the camera focuses on you but doesn't move. You walk extremely fast, fasterthan normal, underwater. Your sidehop goes extremely far if you can manage to pull it off. Sometimes the game even freezes. The glitch is deactivated when your waist gets above the water. The amount of things is huge! I just want you to do the glitch and see if you discover anything else. It's just too much for one person. Thanks!SLogan 06:41, 2 April 2012 (CDT)
I'll have a go, and see what effects I get. If I can do it, I'll make a vid while I'm at it. Curly 10:36, 2 April 2012 (CDT)
ThanksSLogan 14:51, 2 April 2012 (CDT)
Having any luck? I made the game freeze again, but I still can't tell what makes it do it. This is SLogan 21:02, 7 April 2012 (CDT), out.

I had a go at Zora Link, but I couldn't quite get the timing right, even with watching several YouTube videos. Where were you doing it? Most of the videos do it in a river in Hyrule Field, where as the glitch page video (for OoT un-3D) does it in Lake Hylia. Curly 10:58, 8 April 2012 (CDT)

I have mastered it and can do it anywhere. I personally suggest doing it at one of the rivers in Hyrule field. The easiest way to do it is to have the top of your head just below the water. Then face the shore and turn 45-degrees clock-wise. Then sidehop to the left and take the iron boots off when your waist is above the water. The easiest way to get the dive meter effect is to put the iron boots on a button again, then dive and as soon as the dive meter appears equipt the iron boots. Hope this helps! SLogan 11:43, 8 April 2012 (CDT)

Hey. It's been quite a while, and I am almost ready to post the glitch. After quite a bit of testingI have decided that it is not as major of a glitch as I thought. I have unfortunately lost my 3DS, so I cannot continue testing. Have you successfully done the Zora Link glitch yet? If you have, I'll need you to explore the effects of having the diving meter on land. I spent my time exploring underwater. SLogan (talk) 14:54, 11 August 2012 (CDT)

Nope, still can't do it unfortunately. Sorry mate. Curly (talk) 04:08, 19 August 2012 (CDT)

Lego Glitch Central Wikia

N.B. This topic is taken from Zcwikiadmin's talk page. Hi, I have managed to set up a wiki with Wikia. Would you mind if I used modified versions of the version boxes on it? Curly 02:34, 6 October 2011 (CDT)

Feel free, everything on here is public domain as far as I'm concerned. Zcwikiadmin 02:38, 6 October 2011 (CDT)
Cheers, I'll just make sure I give you credit for anything I use. Curly 10:57, 6 October 2011 (CDT)
Wow, it's really cool you're making a wiki! I will point out that DavidJCobb was the original maker of the version boxes. - Zafum 14:08, 6 October 2011 (CDT)

Would anyone be interested in joining the wiki as I need a bit of help with the glitch headers? I am using a modified version of Template:STGlitchHeader. Also, if you know anyone who might be interested in joining please mention it to them. Cheers, Curly 13:34, 3 January 2012 (CST)

The versions are a bit of a hassle as there is a US and PAL for nearly each platform. Suggestions? Curly 10:53, 4 January 2012 (CST)
You might want to to move this to your own user talk page now as it really doesn't involve Zcwikiadmin anymore ;) I don't have any suggestions at the moment either (sorry). death99 12:17, 4 January 2012 (CST)

LEGO Chaos

Ok, so after a year or so of not doing anything, I have decided to continue with my wiki project. I switched provider from Wikia to ShoutWiki. The wiki itself can be found here: http://legochaos.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page. I made it like a 'sister wiki' of sorts (with hopes of being an affiliate when I have more content), if that's ok and I have copied a lot of the templates as Zcwikiadmin said they were public domain. The Main Page is causing me trouble though as the templates are not lining up the same as on Zelda Chaos and the site doesn't actually appear when Googled (hopefully this down to not having enough content yet). As you will see, there is still much to be done however any help/feedback is appreciated. Cheeers, Curly (talk) 06:25, 30 October 2012 (CDT)

Idea for Glitches by Area

So I think that there should be maps of the areas the pages are about. Like say there's a Faron Woods page. There could be a picture or map of Faron Woods. I don't think anyone has mentioned this idea. What do you think? SLogan (talk) 23:29, 12 March 2013 (EDT)

You mean like they have on Zelda Wiki? (Scroll to the bottom.) Curly (talk) 13:04, 14 March 2013 (EDT)
