How to:

1) Go to Ikana Canyon.

2) In the lower area there is a wooden jetty of sorts with two Octoroks that appear in the water nearby.

3) Up to the left of this is a tree on a ledge sticking out of the cliff, walk along the rivers edge to the left until you can only just see the edge of this tree.

4) Position Link right on the very edge of the riverbank.

5) Take out the Hookshot and point it at the part of the tree you can see.

6) Shoot the Hookshot.

The Hookshot should latch onto the tree and pull you to it, you can now use the other trees up here to make your way to the top part of Ikana Canyon, without the Ice arrows, which you're meant to use on the Octoroks to make your way to the other side of the river then make your way up. If the Hookshot doesn't catch onto the tree try aiming at a slightly different part or moving Link a little.
