Oracle of Seasons Glitches - Piece of Rock
This glitch can also be performed in Link's Awakening and Oracle of Ages.
Requirements
- Access to a Piece of Heart that has not already been obtained
- Something Link can pick up, like a rock or a jar
Instructions
- Pick up whichever object you chose.
- Walk to the Piece of Heart and stand on it.
- Throw the object.
Result
Link will pick up the Piece of Heart, but he will still have the object over his head! After closing the text box, the object will fall normally. This also works for any other item that Link holds over his head upon obtaining. You can also obtain chest items in a similar fashion, just open the chest while Link is holding the object.
Explanation
Because Link cannot collect a special item (such as a Piece of Heart) on the ground while he is holding an object above his head, he will immediately obtain the special item after letting go of the object. As for chests, any actions occurring in the room are frozen while Link obtains an item from a chest, including the object Link was holding.
