Instructions

This is quite tricky until you get the hang of it.

Very slowly pull out the left side of the Game Pak until the sound becomes "fuzzy" or distorted, and as soon as it does, stop. At this point the Crooked Cartridge trick is working.

Note: During normal gameplay, the Crooked Cartridge only works well for Deku Link. Trying it as any other version of Link crashes the game almost instantly. Standing still while attempting the Crooked Cartridge trick will result in an immediate game freeze, regardless of which form of Link you are; the trick seems to be the most "reliable" when you are moving rapidly.

See the instructions on how to do each trick for specific information on how to use Crooked Cartridge for that trick.

For obvious reasons this does not work on the GameCube and Virtual Console versions of the game.
