Instructions
- Start a new file.
- Play through it until you get your Ocarina back and are normal Link again.
- On the first day, head to Milk Road. Go up to the boulder blocking the road and move to it's left side, right up against the wall.
- Put on the Deku Mask.
- Face the wall, press and hold Z, and start sidestepping towards the boulder.
- While still sidestepping, very slowly pull up the left side of the cartridge until Deku Link starts glitching around.
- Deku Link will start sidestepping straight through the boulder. Go about halfway through, and then push the cartridge back in. You'll be forced out of the boulder and onto the other side of it.
- Enter Romani Ranch.
- Turn back into normal Link, and then go and talk to Romani. Accept her offer to be a sidekick, so that you have to do the training.
- Once the training starts, just sit around on Epona until the two minutes are up (you can't shoot the balloons because you don't have the Bow).
- Once the time runs out Romani will teach you Epona's Song. You'll now have Epona but no bow, so when you mount Epona, the B button will be blank, and once you dismount her ,it will be blank too (traveling back in time returns the sword to the B button).
- Now go and get either the Blast Mask, the Breman Mask, or Kamaro's Mask. You want one of these ones because when you put them on, they assign an action to the B button.
- Call Epona, put on one of the masks, and then climb onto her. You can now use the B command while on Epona (explode, dance or march).
Note: video uses an alternate method to enter the ranch that uses Bombchu Hover instead of CC. it still shows the effects of Bowless Link.
Result (Blast Mask)
Using the Blast Mask, you can explode while running around on Epona, which, other than the fact that you're invulnerable to the blast, is rather pointless.
Result (Breman Mask/Kamaro's Mask)
Using "Dance" or "March" makes Link start doing so in midair, while Epona continues running. You are now in control of Epona while Link is standing in midair somewhere running on the spot (or dancing/marching if you're still holding B). After you've danced or marched, pressing A will make Link remount Epona. This, along with the (somewhat) simultaneous control of both Link and Epona, implies similarities to Ocarina's Poe Link glitch.
If you dance or march near an enemy, and then make Link lock onto it when he is standing in midair, pressing A will have no effect on him. He is frozen, sidestepping, in midair.
While you are in control of just Epona, she cannot leave or enter any areas. What this means is that you can go into the part of an area that normally loads the next place (a gate, or an exit), but it won't, you can just trot around in these "loading areas" (Epona walks through the exit completely, and the screen never fades to black.) The only place where this is of any "use" is the exit from the Gorman Bros' racetrack to Milk Road.
Subglitch
- Go to the racetrack then dance or march on Epona.
- Guide Epona out into the "loading area".
Subglitch (Sub?)Result
Once you get around the corner, you'll find that the ground ends abruptly. The interesting thing is that Epona can just walk off into space (no other "loading area" in the game lets you do this).
Once you walk off into space, Epona will start falling, but you can still run around in the air. If you press A to make Link mount Epona, he will, and then he'll fly off the top of the screen and Epona off the bottom and you'll start back at the racetrack entrance.
If you just run around as Epona, eventually the camera will zoom up into the sky and with a bit of maneuvering you can make the camera appear right next to the moon.
After running around in space for a few minutes the game will crash, this seems to be unavoidable.
