This was pretty much the final game, the control style is the same as the final one except that the 'A' and 'B' buttons have switched roles.

Although quite a lot of stuff was still being changed it was mostly minor, the story had been finalized and most things were probably just being tested to make sure they worked properly.

The "Reed Whistle"is on c>. This item was used to call Epona instead of Epona's Song, which may not have been in the game at the time. The idea was reused in Twilight Princess. I suspect that this item may have used the Magic Beans item slot, as these cannot be used as an adult, that or there were only three bottles.
Here Link is using the Reed Whistle.
Definitely some mighty big ears.
Instead of stairs leading to Kakariko Village there is a grassy ramp.
Looks like the bridge isn't broken here, Link can ride over it.
There's no guard, and to the left of Link is a lamppost.
The Hyrulians look different.
Death Mountain is erupting off in the distance. The cobbled stones continue all the way to the front of the Temple of Time.
Also, the old Happy Mask shop exterior, if you look at the market place as an adult in the final version you'll see that the ruined remains of the Happy Mask shop actually look like this shop and not the one with the big face on it, they forgot to change it I guess (or didn't bother).
A lady in the backalley, she's in the main Market area in the final version.
Another lamppost, notice that a different cobblestone texture is being used here.
And one more lamp post, the guy in the background looks different from the one there in the final version. I suppose the lamps were removed because they looked too modern.
Big difference here, the gossip stones and the fence behind them aren't there and the walled in pond(?) isn't there either. Infinite Deku sticks and seeds once again too.
Blue eyed Sheik again, and Link's name isn't wrapped onto the next line unlike the final version.
Translation: We meet again, Link...
There's a wooden door behind Sheik, in the final version it's a slab of ice.
And Sheik's harp is different, looks like a horn stuck on the end of it.
Medium sized Deku Baba, in the final version there are small and big, but no medium.
Somewhere inside the Great Deku Tree, the same room as above I think, the map seems to suggest that it's in the main room.
The old style of treasure chest which made an appearance in Majora's Mask.
That "odd grey symbol" is actually [1F], meaning first floor, thanks to the person who pointed that out :)
Link in the entrance area of the Great Deku Tree, there are windows on the left-hand wall which are casting those circles of light on the floor and there is one of those "electric worms" in front of Link which appears to be dying.
There's a chest off to the left underneath all the windows, it's a pity they took all the windows out, they create some rather cool lighting. I suppose it might be a bit hard to explain why the Great Deku Tree has holes in his side though...
A wooden platform high up (second floor) inside the GDT somewhere.
Another high up platform, the symbol on the door looks similar to the one on the Deku shield.
Some hulking great pillars.
This one's interesting. It's from another movie I've got which shows Link battling Ghoma. During the movie it does this "pen and ink" effect twice, it's probably just something they did to the movie for some reason, but it looks cool. |
