Requirements

Escape Kokiri Forest before getting mido to move the first time

Instructions

1. Escape Kokiri Forest using any method
2. Get the Hylian Shield in the graveyard or by buying it
3. Equip it and your sword
4. Talk to Mido

Result

Mido will still ask you to equip a sheild

Notes

Mido is probably still asking for your shield due to the fact that the game is only designed to check for the Deku Shield and doesn't check for the Hylian Shield due to the fact that you normally can't get it before having him move. So there wasn't any need to have him check for the Hylian Shield .
