Requirements

  • You need to have obtained the Water Medallion.
  • You can't have learned the Nocturne of Shadow yet.

Instructions

  1. Enter Kakariko Village from Death Mountain Trail (via the Lost Woods, or Bolero of Fire), to avoid having Sheik teach the Nocturne of Shadow to you.

Result

It will be raining. Normally this rain starts after you've learned the Nocturne of Shadow.

Explaination

Getting the rain that starts falling upon meeting the requirements to get to the Shadow Temple without actually learning the Nocturne of Shadow is probably due to the game properly having a check for the rain element which accompanies this point in the game at any Kakariko Village entrance, but only having a check that triggers the cutscene in which Link learns the Nocturne of Shadow at the entrance from Hyrule Field. This is probably due to the programmers assuming that the player would always enter Kakariko Village from Hyrule Field at this point in the game, not even considering that the player can enter the village from Death Mountain Trail if they so wished; as such, the game programmed a cutscene check only at the Hyrule Field entrance and not at the Death Mountain Trail entrance.
