Ocarina of Time Miscellaneous Glitches - Good Eyes? II
Requirements
- Adult Link
- Zelda's Lullaby
- Bombs (if you're using the Goron route)
- Blue Fire (if you're using the Zora route)
- You can't have spoken to Mido in the Lost Woods yet.
Goron Route: Instructions
- Go to the Lost Woods.
- Destroy the wall which leads to the Goron City (if you haven't done so already).
- Get and equip the Goron Tunic.
- Come back to the Lost Woods.
- Talk to Mido.
Alternately, you can use the Death Mountain Trail route to reach Goron City in lieu of doing step 1, although you're going to have to do step 2 at some point anyway unless you wish to take the Death Mountain Trail route back to the Lost Woods.
Zora Route: Instructions
- Go to the Lost Woods.
- Dive into the pool which leads to Zora's River, then head into Zora's Domain from there.
- Use your Blue Fire to defrost King Zora, then equip the Zora Tunic he gives you.
- Come back to the Lost Woods.
- Talk to Mido.
- Alternately, you can use the Hyrule Field route to reach Zora's River in lieu of doing steps 1 and the first half of 2.
- A more expensive alternative to step 3 is to melt the entrance to the Zora Shop, then buying a Zora Tunic for 300 Rupees.
Result
Mido will tell you that you're dressed like him, even when it isn't true.
Explaination
The reason Mido assumes Link is dressed like him when in fact Link can be wearing a different color is probably due to programmers' assumption that the player would wait until completing the Forest Temple before undertaking the necessary tasks to obtain any tunic other than the Kokiri Tunic. As such, Mido's dialogue is worded only one way, to assume the player is wearing the Kokiri Tunic when in fact they might not be. It should be noted, however, that changing tunics only changes Link's color scheme; Mido could be noticing a similar tunic shape as opposed to tunic color with his dialogue.
