Talk:Oracle of Seasons Glitches - Map Freeze

I stumbled across this glitch around the internet and I'm not entirely sure if it's an emulator fault or an actual glitch. Unfortunately, I lost my copy of the game years ago. If anyone has a copy lying around and could test this that would be awesome. Xen (talk) 20:00, 17 February 2013 (EST)

Just tried it with the vitrual console version, but i can't get it to work. I'm going to try it on my real copy of the game at sunday. For now, I'll put this glitch as not verified. Miven (talk) 05:25, 22 August 2013 (EDT)
If you can, could you please test this on Level 4 (Dancing Dragon) and Level 6 (Ancient Ruins)? I've gotten to freeze on both those dungeons by moving around the floors on the map. Oddly enough, I could not reproduce this on Oracle of Ages in any multi-floor dungeon, which is strange considering they are the same engine. Xen (talk) 07:25, 22 August 2013 (EDT)
I managed to have the game freeze this way more than once, but only on emulator. I think I also had it in Ages but I am not 100% sure about that. -- Morwenn (talk) 18:33, 22 August 2013 (UTC+1)
Just finally tested my game, it didn't work. It might be that it is REALLY random, but I've done it a few times, so I think it's that it does not work on the PAL(European) version. As I really dont think it did not work because i played on my GCN(My GBA's batteries were empty). So that is my guess. I also tested it with a emulator, and it worked, but it was the USA version. So does anybody have a USA version of the game(i don't care if its the physical game or virtual console(3ds)). If you do, please test it.Miven (talk) 16:50, 25 August 2013 (EDT)
I think I just add information to the page about not usable on the PAL version, someone really should test this on a USA versionMiven (talk) 16:31, 7 September 2013 (EDT)

This glitch is very likely a VBA-specific issue. Using the same save file in the 3rd dungeon, out of bgb, gambatte, VBA-M, and VBA, this glitch only occurred in VBA. The save file on my cartridge is different, but it did not occur there either. VBA is ancient software at this point (last updated in 2004), so this shouldn't be surprising. --Drenn (talk) 22:55, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
