Instructions

1. Go to the area where you want to "lose" Navi and play Saria's Song.
2. The screen: "Do you want to talk to Saria? Yes/No" will appear.
3. Place the green arrow on the 'Yes' option.
4. Very quickly do the Crooked Cartridge trick, press "A", and push the cartridge back in. You must do this step VERY FAST! If you do it too slow the game will almost instantly crash.
5. The blue message box that Saria's text appears in will come up, but instead of Saria's text lots of garbled text will appear, often ending with the word "No".
6. Once the text has finished appearing (sometimes it will crash the game, if it does just try again) and the blue icon indicating the end of the message appears, press "A".

Result

The message box will disappear and you will be free to run around. Navi will stay where she is until you enter a new area. You'll notice that everything is extremely dark; this is because the game still thinks you are talking to Saria/Navi and so keeps the screen dimmed.
