Ocarina of Time Miscellaneous Glitches - Half Stick

Getting ready to jump off a ledge, with Link's Deku Stick ready to swing.
Link jumped off the ledge, his Deku Stick is about to hit the wall in midair as the alternate method states.
After successfully executing the trick, you have a half Deku Stick.
Instructions
- As Child Link, enter Kokiri Forest.
- Head to the shop. In front of it, there is a short section of fence; climb onto this.
- Go to the end of the fence furthest away from the shop.
- Face away from the shop. In front of you is a stone pillar; make sure you are facing at the closest part of the pillar.
- Take out a Deku Stick.
- Perform a jumping slash attack (Z + A) with the Deku Stick towards the pillar.
Result
The Deku Stick should hit the pillar and break before you land on the ground. If so, when Link stands up, he'll now be holding half a Deku Stick. The number of Deku Sticks you have will have decreased by one. If you do this when you only have one Deku Stick, the only attack you'll be able to do is the jumping slash attack.
Once you take out another item that Link holds in his hand, put the stick away, or leave the area, it will be gone.
Alternate
This isn't the only place this can be done; to make this glitch work, all you have to do is break your Deku Stick while in midair, so anywhere you can do that, you can do the glitch.
Alternate II
You can also do this with a breakable sign; just Z-target the sign and use a jump attack.
