Instructions

1. Climb onto the crates near the Deku Scrub salesman in Clocktown.
2. Take out a Deku Stick.
3. Do a jumping slash attack at the post holding up the small "roof" above you that is the furthest away¹.

Result

The Deku stick should hit the post and break before you land on the ground. Now when you do land on the ground Link will continue to hold onto the remaining half of the stick, which you can still use. If the Deku Stick you used was the last one you had then the only thing you will be able to do with the resulting half stick is a jumping slash attack. ¹This glitch can be done just about anywhere, the only thing that is important is that the stick breaks before you hit the ground.
