MM Beta Quest does exist, but it is not particularly interesting. This is because the title screen plays on a plain map with no exits whatsoever (compare it with OoT, where the title screen plays in Hyrule Field, which allows us to discover all that stuff in the first place). Of course you can check out all the permutations of the title screen map in MM if you're *really* interested. -- Prince Kassad 17:01, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- A plain map with no exits? I was using a code on Project 64 that let you choose a starting place which had exits that led to random places. I'm not sure what code you were using, but the code I use (for the US version) is D03E6B3B 0000, 801EF672 00xx. - Zafum 22:06, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, this one is commonly cited. It is however in essence nothing more than an exit modifier code, and it's just the normal game (although the exits are all jumbled). It only gives you the impression you're in beta quest because the interface does not show up. The only real interesting thing you can do with this is starting on the test map the developers used to test the game, if you use the Japanese version. I don't know if anyone created a real beta quest code yet. If it existed, it should start you up on an empty blue map with a giant Deku, FYI. -- Prince Kassad 04:27, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Of course, isn't that how Ocarina of Time Beta Quest works as well? I found this at a Beta Quest guide for Ocarina of Time:

"I had a conversation with DIS member "Jason the Echidna" about beta. This is
what he had to say, and I completely agree with it. Here's the soup:
"Moving from area to area works via an array of pointers. The maps are all
numbered, though the numbers aren't consistant. Each exit in a map has a
variable which points to the map it leads to and the entry point of that map
by number.
Having the HUD off will for some odd reason make all of the exits point to
different places, a lot of which do not exist and thus will lead to a
crash/freeze.""
- That would also mean that beta places that were not removed from the code could be accessed using Beta Quest. Isn't that how the Majora's Mask Beta Quest works as well? Just by pointing to the wrong places? - Zafum 18:38, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the description above is basically correct, but if no beta quest code is on, all the exits can only lead to regular maps, since these are what you can discover during normal gameplay as well. What Beta Quest does is changing the environment, like objects etc., which allows us to see all this amazing beta stuff in the first place. Beta Quest only works while the interface is off (which explains why Kakariko Village kicks you out of BQ), which has the side effect of jumbling the exits around. -- Prince Kassad 20:19, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. I see. I'll do something about it later, but for now deciding what to do with MM BQ is not a very high priority. In the end I'll probably get rid of it. - Zafum 21:33, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

As the "beta quest" is just scrambled exits and different actor sets being loaded, I would have thought it would be more useful to just use code/s to switch through an area´s actor sets without mucking about with all the rest of the BQ mess. I´m pretty sure codes exist to change the actor set that is used though I don´t have them myself.Zcwikiadmin 14:26, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, it was the BQ Expansion code: 8011B933 ????. Try it with a few values. -- Prince Kassad 17:46, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
Zelda Chaos and NIWA
Hello, Zafum! While more people have commented about the mentioned subject, there still isn't a clear consensus of whether Zelda Chaos will be able to join NIWA as a member, so sadly, I am afraid there will be more waiting! :( However, most of the comments by the admins and bureaucrats of Zelda Wiki have brought up the question if you guys would be perhaps interested in merging with Zelda Wiki. If you and/or any of the other admins would like to discuss this possibility with the rest of the ZW staff, then feel free to add me on Skype (see here for more details) to my username: danythedot. Even if not, then we will try to get back to you guys as soon as there is a clear consensus on the issue. Thank you for being so patient! :) Dany36 01:26, 30 March 2011 (CDT)
- Hi, and thanks for the update! Whether or not Zelda Wiki is willing to grant us permission to apply for NIWA membership, I'm very grateful for everybody taking the time to talk about it. :) As for merging with Zelda Wiki, I'm not personally for it right now (I'd have to be persuaded :P), but we'd have to discuss it on our forums. - Zafum 08:33, 30 March 2011 (CDT)
Hello again! This discussion has taken longer than anticipated, and given that there still isn't a clear consensus about Zelda Chaos's fate of joining NIWA (as I do believe that most, if not all, of the active admins have voted), I think the best course of action right now would be to ask for affiliation directly. That's not saying we are not letting you guys join NIWA as members, not at all! We just hope that this long wait has not made you lose interest in joining or affiliating with NIWA. It had seemed that the discussion had died a little bit, so I have bumped it up again and hopefully things will get back on track... Sorry about this again, but while we still try to come up with a decision, feel free to ask for NIWA affiliation! If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask here or in my ZW talk page. See you around! Dany36 10:28, 14 April 2011 (CDT)
- In that case, I'll be sure to make sure an affiliation with NIWA is okay with the rest of Zelda Chaos, and then go for it! - Zafum 16:25, 14 April 2011 (CDT)
Little issue here...
Ocarina of Time:Miscellaneous Glitches/Armor was deleted quite awhile back. Problem is, while I was rummaging through the wanted pages getting rid of other redlinks, I discovered that this was still included on three pages--Ocarina of Time Miscellaneous Glitches - Pot Armor, Ocarina of Time Miscellaneous Glitches - Feather Armor, and Ocarina of Time Miscellaneous Glitches - Rock Armor. I know the method the "Result" section was rendered was the wrong way to go, but shouldn't the contents of that "template" been subst'd BEFORE the unneeded page was deleted? Is it possible to recover the information and get it presented properly? Thanks. --Pikachu 18:29, 14 April 2011 (CDT)
- There, I just undeleted the template. As for having them all in one template or not, I'm just going to leave them how they are right now. If you want to change them though, feel free :) - Zafum 19:40, 14 April 2011 (CDT)
- Went ahead and copy-pasted the information into the articles themselves. You can delete the unnecessary page again, it's truly completely unecessary now...--Pikachu 21:37, 14 April 2011 (CDT)
Userboxes
I'm a little embarrassed to ask this, but how exactly do you create a userbox? The Link to the Past 15:45, 21 June 2011 (CDT)
- Well, I myself am a bit iffy on all the features of the user box template we have (I copied it from a different site). To make a standard user box though, create a new template with this (filling in needed categories):
{{userbox
| border-c = #XXXXXX(Userbox Border color)
| id = [[ABCD.gif(Icon File Name)]]
| id-c = #XXXXXX(Icon Background color)
| id-s = 30
| info = <center>ABCDEFG(Userbox text)</center>
| info-c = #XXXXXX(Userbox text background color)
}}<noinclude>
(ad description, instructions, or whatever here)
Then just use the template between the userboxtop and userboxbottom templates to get a userbox tower. If you need a place where you can find hexadecimal color codes, see here. There are a whole lot more categories you can fill out to customize your userbox, but those are the main ones I know of. Hope this helps! - Zafum 22:01, 21 June 2011 (CDT)
- Got it. I'll look on wikipedia too if I need. Thanks! The Link to the Past 16:58, 22 June 2011 (CDT)
Image titles banned from creation
Hi Zafum! I recently created page 8 of the Beta Content ABR. Some pictures can't be uploaded. I always get that message:
- You do not have permission to do that, for the following reason:The title "File:ABR LLR adultranch8.jpg" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: .*adult.* ...and some other images on page 8:
ABR LLR adultranch1.jpg to ABR LLR adultranch8.jpg
ABR ToT exploringtemple4.jpg
Do you have any idea how I can upload them or get access/permission for uploading them? Thanks, --[P] [T] [C] 12:55, 26 June 2011 (CDT)
- Ah, sorry about that. It was one of the blacklisted terms in the blacklist page that Death99 installed. Since any of those terms can't be used in a page name, I can see how that would be a problem. I've just removed most of the blacklist, so it should work now; if anything else still has that problem, tell me and I'll look into it! - Zafum 13:57, 26 June 2011 (CDT)
- Hello again. I do not want to annoy you but the message unfortunately returns again on image titles containing the word "adult"... --[P] [T] [C] 14:14, 26 June 2011 (CDT)
- Oh, sorry about that. I had been editing the wrong blacklist. The Title Blacklist Is actually the page I was looking for. I removed adult from that list to, so it should definitely work now. - Zafum 14:18, 26 June 2011 (CDT)
- Yup, it works. Thank you really much! :D

WW Beta Content: Action Replay
Hello again, Zafum! I see you created the page for the WW Beta Content "Character Design". Should we create the "Action Replay" section the same way you did on "Character Design" - linking the images to external pages? Therefor, this problem would be solved, but I have no clue how to create the rest of the page with that table. Do you have any idea how to fix it anyway? --[Talk] [Contrib] 07:10, 20 July 2011 (CDT)
- That would be a good idea. We probably won't be able to get the pages to open up in a new, minimized window automatically, like it does on the original action replay page, but that's fine. I'm not sure how exactly we should go about the table, though. I'll maybe try building a table for it a bit later. - Zafum 07:46, 20 July 2011 (CDT)
- I'm looking forward to completing the WW Beta section. However, I became a little bit busy. I'm trying to do my best. What about the table you spoke about? --[Talk] [Contrib] 12:18, 13 November 2011 (CST)
- It's quite alright, there's really no rush. As for the table, though, I really have no clue as to how I was planning to do it ~_~ If you still need me to build you one, I might be able get a basic table format up for you. Otherwise, if you want to make it, it doesn't really matter to me what it looks like, as long as it works :D - Zafum 16:59, 13 November 2011 (CST)
Hey Zafum, I'm looking forward continuing the WW section fairly soon, so this type of Image format (with link to the external page) is okay for you? Hail from the Alps, --[Talk] [Contrib] 11:51, 13 March 2012 (CDT)
- Sure, whatever works is fine with me ^^ Zafum 10:40, 14 March 2012 (CDT)

Hear it is!
Well i can't seem to get to you on irc so im just going to tell you.Do you know the armed glitch? Well you can arm yourself(on a knew game save)with the master sword etc and also the megaton hammer. But the problem is you can't keep the megaton hammer if you save so if you want to clear dungeons with it you cant save and quit.Well i found out a way to save with it as young link and you DONT lose it.So you just tell me if it should be posted as a glitch but if not get back to me on my talk or irc(i check irc when i can)So...Thanks!"-Glitcher15 11:45, 27 July 2011 (CDT)"
What should i call it?
hey zafum im just thinking what i should call the glitch i need help(ps i also have other glitches to post)Thanks!"-Glitcher15 13:06, 28 July 2011 (CDT)"
- I think whatever you can think of would be fine. If you're looking for suggestions though, maybe something like "Save AL Megaton Hammer", or "Keep Megaton Hammer". It's a kind of weird glitch to name, so whatever you think will work :D - Zafum 17:04, 29 July 2011 (CDT)
Glitches by Area
Hey there, Zafum!
A few days ago I posted a bit on the Projects' talk page saying that I would be happy to do a Glitches by Area thing for MC, PH, ST and OoT. I figured you're someone who's quite high up in the wiki so I better post here as well. Is it alright for me to go ahead and do this?
Curly 14:56 01/08/2011 (GMT)
- Well sure! In fact, I was actually the one who originally put that idea there. As for me being high up on the wiki, I can't really say I have much more say in things that anybody else; being a sysop just means I've been trusted to stop vandalism and stuff, as well as have a few other features that could be dangerous to let just anyone use. Anyway, make the pages however you like, we can worry about the categories later.
- ps. Sorry about not responding to your message on the talk page (I was lazy and thought somebody else would do it :P). - Zafum 11:22, 1 August 2011 (CDT)
New Glitches!
Hey zafum i just wanted to tell you i found out a new glitch and posted it its called No Respect you might have to search it.Any way i found a alternate way to forest escape but you have to have bombs so its prbly not as useful but all you do is go in the hole come out side jump lock on talk to the sign and take a bomb out should i post this?Do u have a 3ds so u can verifie it? Well...just get back to me when you can thanks!
Reply to reply XD
Hey zafum can you verifie No Respect for me?I did it on gcn version so..Wenever you can thanks!Ps just incase you didnt no its for original ocarina of time."-Glitcher15 13:24, 9 August 2011 (CDT)"
Bombslide!
Hey zafum i just wanted to tell you that i was playing majora's mask/ocarina of time and i found out that the bombslide in the 3ds version works in both ocarina of time and majora's mask!So should i post it and if so should i put my name as the discover or not?Well just get back to me when you can thanks!
- Well, for Ocarina of Time if it's just another version, then I would just make one Bombslide page for both the 3DS version and other versions, and the original finder that found Bombslide would be put as the discoverer. But Majora's Mask certainly can have its own page, and if you were the one who found it, then I guess you can put your name as the discoverer. - Zafum 16:21, 8 August 2011 (CDT):Ok ill make the majora's mask page! But i dont know how to make it appear in the glitches page like miscellaneous so....but ill make the page thanks!Ps should i post the forest escape bomb method? Its prbly not really useful becouse you have to have bombs but what u can do with it is cool well thanks!"-Glitcher15 13:27, 9 August 2011 (CDT)"
Categorizing ZeldaChaos:Pages
Hi there, Zafum! Just a little request: Please categorize ZeldaChaos:News and ZeldaChaos:About with [[Category:ZeldaChaos]]. Thanks!
- It's done now. - Zafum 22:02, 17 August 2011 (CDT)
Editing Main Page
Sorry to bother you again but I was wondering if I would be allowed to edit the main page to display an ad to the whole 'Glitches by Area' thing and get it fully underway. I only ask because it's the main page and I'm not sure what Jay would think. In the ad I would inform people about what exactly the whole thing is and how they can get involved if they're interested. Curly 06:02, 21 August 2011 (CDT)
- Well, I think this would be something that would work best under the news section of the front page. Could you give me what you want it to say, and I can post it? - Zafum 07:20, 22 August 2011 (CDT)
- How about, "Date - Glitches by Area. Hi there guys, Curly here for a quick little announcement. I just wanted to talk about the new phenomenon on the wiki known as Glitches by Area! *Cue trumpets* Basically, there are pages being created for all the different places in Zelda. When these are finished they will contain all manner of trivia, neat facts and glitches. How can you get involved I hear you cry! Well head on over to the Category:Places page and add stuff to the pages in it. Bye, Curly. Credit to Zafum for the original idea on the projects page.
Hey Zafum.
Hey i just have a question did u orchestrate that music of mother 3 thats on your user page? It sounds awesome so i was just wondering;) Also i havent been very active im trying to find new glitches if i do ill post them instantly but also i just what you and all the others to know if you need me to verifie a glitch or edit pages(still not good at that) Just tell me i would love to help well farewell and thanks!"-Glitcher15 18:08, 8 September 2011 (CDT)"
Just Wondering...
Hi again, (sorry) but I was wondering would you want me to do something like this: http://www.zeldawiki.org/Category:Places with Glitches by Area? The bit about places by game (not deserts and bodies of water) as it's gonna get pretty crowded. Curly 04:07, 1 September 2011 (CDT)
- Sure, if you think it would help! I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately; I've been busy with school, and now I'm on a very busy vacation ( just yesterday, I was traveling around, seeing sights for 18 hours straight :P ). - Zafum 07:57, 1 September 2011 (CDT)
New way to do hookshot clip!
Hey zafum i wanted to tell you i found a new way to do the hookshot clip.It works really well and the best part is you CAN do it in the WATER so get back to me if you think it should be posted thanks!"-Glitcher15 18:07, 8 September 2011 (CDT)"
Reply
Well i would love to add it the thing is the hookshot clip wasnt found out by me but doing it underwater a differant way was so what do you think i should do? Thanks"-Glitcher15 21:18, 8 September 2011 (CDT)":Well hears the link to where i found the glitch http://zeldaspeedruns.com/oot3d/tech/hookshotlongshot-clip The thing about it is youll notice how they do it (Watch both videos) And it works so i use that all the time but you CANT use it underwater becouse you cant backflip or sidehop. But the way i do it you CAN do it UNDERWATER! So as far as it goes the way i found out you can do it out or in water(I tested it in the water temple and clipped out the game) So you just tell me what you think thanks! PS I dont use youtube but i could still take a video but i would'nt know where to put it just tell me what you think thanks!"-Glitcher15 10:46, 9 September 2011 (CDT)"
Can you delete a page?
Hey zafum i posted the glitch! But i made 2 pages(sorry about that) if you could delete the one thats not linked to the 3ds glitches i would appreciate it!Well thanks! PS its called Hookshot/Longshot Clip.
Sidebar
I was just thinking perhaps, somewhere in the future, the sidebar might be redesigned. How about under 'Glitches' there could be 'By game' (linking to a page with the different games), 'By type' (using the categories for 'Lockup Glitches' and so forth), 'By Area' (with all the Glitches by Area stuff) and then finally 'By Difficulty' (if a difficulty system was set up)? Obviously this would not be yet as there is no GbD and GbA is not done, but just somehting to bear in mind. Curly 05:55, 17 March 2012 (CDT)
Question?
Hey zafum hows its going? Its been awhile since ive been here but I want to come back and fine more glitches;) I just wanted to know how to change my name? If you could help I would appreciate it thanks! Glitcher15 (talk) 22:39, 25 August 2012 (CDT)
- Hey there Glitcher! I'm afraid it's been a while since I was active here, so I'm not sure about changing names... if it's possible, Death99 might know? - Zafum (talk) 17:01, 28 August 2012 (CDT)
Reply: Swordless Link 3DS - Confirmation
Hey Zafum. The popular Swordless Link glitch does if fact work on the 3DS.
- Start the final battle with Ganon.
- He knocks your Master Sword out of your hand and it nearly misses Zelda.
- Save and Quit.
Once you restart the save file, you will be swordless.
- All of the sub-glitches that came with the original Swordless Link glitches for older versions of Ocarina of Time are also in the 3DS version.
If you need more help with it, feel free to ask me. I've mastered it. I hope this helps! Glitching Legacy 16:01, 3 March 2013 (CDT)
