Instructions
- Do the Any Item On Epona glitch, with the Goron Mask on a C-button.
- Once you load the game again, don't move Epona. Instead, attempt to use the Goron Mask; you'll succeed.
- Press A to get to rid of Tatl chastising you for trying to mount Epona ("you'd squash the poor thing"), and then press A again to dismount Epona.
- Take off the Goron Mask.
- You'll now have the Kokiri Sword on the B button, though if you press B, Link will draw the Gilded Sword. (If you save at an Owl statue, the icon will correct itself.)
- Go to the Mountain Village and talk to the Swordsmith. Let him change your sword into a Razor Sword (the game thinks you actually have a Kokiri Sword).
- Come back the next day and collect your Razor Sword. Use it 100 times and it will lose it's edge and turn into a Kokiri Sword.
Notes
This only works if you have the Gilded Sword.
Explanation
The cause seems to be that Goron Link doesn't have an item associated with the B button.
What seems to happen (and what other glitches demonstrate) is that mounting and dismounting Epona as a non-human form of Link equips that other form's B item to the B button -- but Goron Link doesn't have a B item, so either a glitch item or no item at all is equipped to the B button. The game apparently notices this when you change back to human Link, and attempts to correct the issue by placing the Kokiri Sword on the button, regardless of what sword is actually in Link's possession.
